The first job the site did was catch the Instagram audience. July and August leads came heavily from social, not search, because a proper landing point existed for the first time.
Then Google caught up. Impressions went from under 1,000 at launch to 7,449 in March 2026. Clicks followed: 17 in August, then 113 in a single month by March. All of that came from the build and its on-page SEO, with no monthly SEO behind it.
October to December went quiet, which is normal for landscaping. Nobody's thinking about a new patio in November. Then it picked back up: 7 enquiries in January, 6 in February, 10 in March and 12 in April.
In May 2026 we moved Ross off Wix and onto a new site we built ourselves. By then he'd had 52 enquiries. Since the move every enquiry goes straight into his own dashboard, so we can count them properly. That's another 36 from May to October, which takes him to 88. If someone sent the same job in twice, we've only counted it once.
Where it stands in October 2026
We checked Ross's main searches on 29 October 2026, as a mobile search from Chesterfield.
| Search | Google map pack | Normal results |
|---|
| landscapers chesterfield | 1st | 4th |
| landscaping chesterfield | 1st | 8th |
| landscape gardeners chesterfield | 3rd | 4th |

The Google Business Profile's own figures show what that visibility does. From May to September 2026 the profile sent 22 phone calls, 143 clicks through to the website and 248 requests for directions. Over the same five months of 2025 it sent 2 calls, 22 website clicks and 36 direction requests.
Ross now has 24 Google reviews, every one of them five stars.
What other landscapers can take from this
If people already know your work, give them somewhere to ask. Ross had the audience before he had the website. The quickest leads came from people who already followed him and finally had a quote form to fill in.
Your Google profile and your website work as a pair. The profile gets you into the map pack, and the website is where people go to check you out before they ring. Website clicks from the profile went from 22 to 143 year on year.
Plan for winter. October to December 2025 were the quiet months, with 1 to 3 enquiries each. March and April 2026 were the best two, with 10 and 12. Have the site and the profile ready before the spring rush, not during it.
Reviews keep stacking up. Google says the number of reviews and their score count towards how prominent a business is in the map pack. Twenty-four reviews, all five stars, is what Ross has built. Ask after every finished job, while the customer is still pleased with it. Our review system exists to make that automatic.
Broad searches come first, specific ones take longer. "Landscapers Chesterfield" came good before the searches for individual jobs. A service page has to be the best answer in town for that one job, with real photos of the work and straight answers to the questions people ask, before it ranks on its own.
